I actually found myself playing the original on GOG.com recently to give me a quick fix. Not as bad as others are touting but it just doesn't let you feel the way the original did. It was replaced with pay to win style gameplay. It had all the same stuff but the love was not there. Then Dungeon Keeper for iOS came out from EA. Heck, I was recently thinking on making my own.

I grew weary of the few game crashing bugs but my love for it kept me coming back for more. Curious if some of you are seeing this same issue coming back up again, especially if you were playing before the patch with no problems.The original Dungeon Keeper is one of those games I hold dear to my heart. We tried for months to repro this behavior but to no avail internally. One player left it this way for 15-20 minutes, and it eventually DID load, then never had the issue again. We've had this rare behavior in past patches for some users where their CPUs would go crazy for no known reason and they'd be stuck at a black loading screen. You killed the exe manually, so it probably is just flipping out.Р”В¬an you clarify - you're seeing this 'infinite black screen' after hitting 'Play' on the launcher? Is this after the DD2 logo shows up? If so, can you check your CPU? Is it sitting at 100% CPU usage? It saying you missing crucial files in the error is most likely a false positive.

If I had to guess, someone botched and created a possible infinite loop because we are recieving the infinite black screen of doom that requires force closing. every file existed, just isn't working as intended).
